This is an unofficial community build for the Unfolded.Tools Remote Simulator. It is not an Unfolded Circle product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, operated by, or supported by Unfolded Circle ApS.
It is based on Web Configurator 2.3.3, the only Web Configurator source release published by Unfolded Circle ApS. It may not reflect the features, appearance, translations, or behavior of the current proprietary official Web Configurator.
What changed
Remote Simulator support
- The configurator uses the isolated API, WebSocket and browser-storage namespace assigned
to each Remote Simulator session.
- A simulator-specific Remote page and session bootstrap connect the browser UI to
uc-virtual-remote. The Remote page is a first-class navigation destination and uses the same tools/body layout as the Entities page.
- The simulated touch slider forwards volume-up and volume-down commands to the configured
media-player target.
- A long press falls back to the configured short-press command when no dedicated
long-press command exists.
- Controls that require physical Remote hardware are hidden, disabled, or represented by
safe virtual values. The public simulator returns a synthetic disconnected Wi-Fi status instead of exposing host network information.
Interface and assets
- Unfolded.Tools naming and original project artwork replace product branding that is not
required for the simulator.
- The login screen uses the supplied minimal architectural desktop and phone background set.
Its authentication content is vertically centered, while the version footer remains pinned to the lower edge, and text colors are lightened for legibility.
- Authenticated configurator sessions open on Home. The Remote page retains the full primary
navigation bar instead of being treated as a detail route.
- The Remote 3 front artwork uses transparent button symbols. The simulator renders the saved
button-backlight RGB color and brightness through those symbols and updates it immediately when the display settings change.
logo-dark.svgis not included or requested by the custom application.- Font Awesome was removed from the dependency and runtime payload. Icons are rendered with
the locally hosted Material Symbols Sharp variable font under Apache License 2.0.
Compatibility and demo-data fixes
- The mobile navigation is mounted only at the mobile breakpoint, while entity, remote,
activity and macro detail routes retain the official page title and back-button behavior.
- Entity and activity states are normalized before case conversion, preventing failures when
an integration returns a non-string state value.
- The demo catalog uses valid icons for the living-room light, climate entity, demo
integration and demo profile.
- The TV Remote page name is stored as plain text instead of a translated object.
- Watch TV includes populated on/off sequences and Movie Night includes a complete room and
playback preparation sequence.
- The Coffee Machine entity was removed and the fan label is
Air Circulator.
Notices and source availability
- Starting a hosted simulator requires a mandatory community-project acknowledgement before
an instance is created or placed in the capacity queue.
- The UC Virtual Remote runtime bundles this source-built configurator as an immutable
component; the obsolete device-bundle capture, upload, replacement, and removal workflow has been removed.
- Settings → About identifies the build as unofficial and links to licenses, corresponding
source, this modification notice, and the source diff.
- The complete modified source, official source archive, deterministic source archive,
checksums and machine-readable patch are published under /remote-simulator/licensing/source/.
/remote-simulator/licensing/diffcompares the official 2.3.3 source tree with the
modified source tree. It does not compare hashed Vite output filenames.
